The CHU Dumont Foundation held its Annual General Meeting on June 22nd and reported on its achievements for the 2020–2021 fiscal year.
“The past year was certainly challenging, but thanks to the generosity of our donors and partners, we were able to raise just over $2.1 million,” said Lise Caissie, outgoing president. “The generosity of all these people and their support for our mission will allow us to continue to invest in improving the care we provide in our hospital centre.”
“I think you could say that our last fiscal year has been an opportunity for the Foundation to reinvent itself,” adds Nadine Martin, Executive Director. "It has allowed us to review our activities and to refocus our efforts on our fundraising campaigns—for example, the one replacing the 2020 Golf Classic. We know that there are still many surprises in store for us this year, but it will be an opportunity for our team to prepare the Foundation for what lies ahead,” she says.
Following the Foundation’s annual general meeting, Sébastien Dupuis, President and CEO of Assumption Life, was appointed Chair of the Board of Directors. A member of the board since 2015, Mr. Dupuis has also served as vice-president and treasurer.
“Mr. Dupuis has an excellent track record and has all the experience necessary to continue expanding the Foundation's reach,” says Ms. Caissie. “His sustained commitment to the cause and his ties to the business community make him the perfect person to perform this role,” she added.
“After more than six years as a member of the Board of Directors, it is a privilege to reaffirm my commitment to CHU Dumont Foundation with this important role,” said Dupuis. “I would first like to thank Ms. Caissie for her contributions and the leadership she has provided for the Foundation. In collaboration with members of the Foundation’s Board of Directors and team, as well as our many partners, I firmly believe that we will continue to improve the patient experience and ensure access to the best possible care. Together, we can make a difference.”
In addition to the chair, two other members, Dr. Denis LeBlanc and Roddy Awad, completed their terms. Three new members were also elected to the Board: Janice Lirette Evers, Charles Gervais, and Taha Maarous.
