Moncton, June 20, 2024 – "It's so gratifying to realize the difference the CHU Dumont Foundation really makes to patients and their loved ones, enhancing their experience and ensuring they have access to the best possible care. The results for 2023-2024 reflect the generosity of our many donors, as well as the efforts of the Foundation's team," said Sébastien Dupuis, outgoing Chairman of the Board, at last night's Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Achievements in 2023-2024
- Financial statements
At the AGM, board members approved the 2023-2024 financial statements, which reflect the great generosity of donors, the commitment of volunteers and the sustained efforts of the Foundation team. Revenues totalled over $5.5 million, against expenses of $1 million. According to the outgoing chairman, these are excellent results, the best in the last five years, exceeding by $2.5 million the previous year's revenues of $3 million.
- Capital campaign “Driving Surgery Forward”
The campaign proved a huge success, exceeding its $6.5 million goal by raising $7,062,870. At the end-of-campaign celebration on May 2, we were able to witness the generosity of donors and the impact of our efforts to equip the Dumont UHC with a surgical robot and digitize nine operating rooms.
- Tree of Hope campaign
The annual campaign raised $993,767, a third of which ($347,000) came from direct mail returns. "Every donation counts, no matter how small," said Mr. Dupuis. The funds were used to equip the Dr-Léon-Richard Oncology Centre with a specialized stereotactic radiotherapy technique that targets brain tumours caused by cancers other than brain cancer.
New Chairman of the Board
James Lockyer has been appointed Chairman of the Board. "I'm very excited to be taking the helm of the Foundation's Board of Directors, and I'm honoured to do so! With the great team in place at the Board and employee levels, I am committed to making the Foundation shine and pursuing its mission, in the interests of patients, their loved ones, employees and physicians at the Dumont UHC. Together, we will rise to the challenges so that the Foundation can continue to stand out and challenge its limits," said James Lockyer, the new Chairman. The Board also welcomed two new members: Dominique Fontaine and Michelyne Paulin.
IN THE PHOTO
In gratitude for his commitment, dedication and overall contribution to the CHU Dumont Foundation, Sébastien Dupuis, outgoing Chairman of the Board, received, from incoming Chairman James Lockyer, a numbered print of the Foundation's artwork, created by Shédiac painter Francis Coutellier. Recipients of the Foundation artwork stand out by their involvement and direct impact on the development of the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont University Hospital Centre. Thank you so much Mr. Dupuis!
