Moncton, August 11, 2025 – The goal of $150,000 has been reached to purchase home-use hemodialysis machines and residential water treatment systems. Three machines have already been acquired, and more will be purchased as new patients are identified.

The Vitalité Health Network’s goal is to reach 25% of patients on self-managed dialysis within three years. To achieve this, the focus is on supporting patients in making informed decisions and educating patients already on hemodialysis to assess whether home treatment might better meet their needs.

“The CHU Dumont Foundation launched this campaign with the aim of reducing congestion in the nephrology department at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre (Dumont UHC) and improving the patient experience,” said Gilles Allain, CEO of the Foundation. “Thank you to all our donors who have helped transform the lives of many New Brunswickers. Your support enhances autonomy, quality of life, and health equity for patients living with kidney disease,” added Mr. Allain.
