Cycle for the Cause!

Cycle for the cause!

Moncton, May 4, 2021 – The Tour of Hope, presented by Assumption Life, returns for an 11th edition. To the delight of cycling enthusiasts, last year’s format has been maintained. Experts or beginners, everyone will enjoy the activity and cycle for the cause at their own pace.

The Executive Director of the CHU Dumont Foundation, Nadine Martin, is proud of how inclusive the Tour grew to be. “In its new format, the Tour of Hope brings us back to the Foundation’s core mission that is to fully engage the partners and the community. Last year was a great success and many cyclists expressed a profound gratitude to finally be able to be part of it.”

Bernice Landry, from the Campbellton region, is amongst them. “I am grateful to everyone who supported me throughout this adventure, this dream of doing the Tour of Hope as a cancer survivor. For me, it was a way to say thank you and give back.”

Once again, the invitation goes out to all cycling enthusiasts across the province, from experts to beginners, to join the movement. From the time of registration to the conclusion of the Tree of Hope Campaign, they will be able to cycle for the cause, and raise donations that benefit cancer patients.

“Now more than ever, it is important to maintain good health and adopt healthy habits,” says Dr. Carole Williams, chair of the Tour of Hope. “Participants of the Tour are always encouraged to push their limits. For the sport’s lovers who want to surpass themselves, it’s going to be an opportunity to challenge themselves, and even to challenge each other, and especially to contribute to raising precious donations for all those who have the extra challenge of fighting cancer during the pandemic.”

“Assumption Life is pleased to announce our continued partnership with the CHU Dumont Foundation for the 2021 edition of the Tour of Hope. Last year, the pandemic tried to stop us, but the enthusiastic response from the community ensured the success of this cause so dear to our hearts. Cancer touches us all in some way, and with every pedal stroke during the Tour of Hope, we contribute to the fight against this terrible disease. As a social engagement leader, we are proud to be the presenting sponsor of the Tour of Hope for the fourth year in a row,” says Sébastien Dupuis, President and CEO of Assumption Life.

The Tour of Hope supports the Tree of Hope Campaign and its mission to improve comfort and care for cancer patients through the purchase of specialized equipment for the Dr.-Léon-Richard Oncology Center, and by offering advanced training opportunities for specialized oncology teams here in New Brunswick.
