A wave of generosity brings the CHU Dumont Foundation closer to its goal of raising the necessary funds to acquire a surgical robot. This state-of-the-art technology will be added to the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre’s surgical suite, the most recent in New Brunswick. Thanks to the recently completed Tree of Hope campaign, the Foundation will be able to invest a significant amount towards this tremendous project.
“We are proud of the collaborative work between the two health authorities! It has laid the groundwork to establish strategic programs designed to meet the needs of New Brunswick’s patients and healthcare professionals alike,” explains Nadine Martin, the Foundation’s Executive Director. “We also wish to congratulate the entire team at the Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation for their successful campaign. We are thrilled for all New Brunswickers that a first surgical robot is in place. We are confident that with the help of the community, we will also be able to raise the necessary funds to equip a second hospital in the province with this much needed technology to meet the identified healthcare needs,” she adds.
Supporting the acquisition of a surgical robot has been a goal of the CHU Dumont Foundation for some years now. Throughout the years, some activities, namely The Drive, have kick-started the fundraising process for this project. To reach its ultimate goal, however, the Foundation will focus its efforts on raising funds to acquire this equipment.
The completion of such a project will require the support of numerous partners. That’s why the Foundation will work alongside many collaborators, adding to the support of the Vitalité Health Network.
We are proud to be able to count on the unconditional support of our donors and partners who have the well-being of New Brunswickers at heart,” mentions Sébastien Dupuis, Chairman of the Board of Directors. With the acquisition of the surgical robot, we want to demonstrate our continued commitment to make the CHU Dumont a centre of excellence. Engaging our partners in this project is a clear indication of our community’s commitment to ensuring we provide the best possible health experience for all New Brunswickers.”
